Meadoros

Meadoros was established around a millennium ago and as such is a city of rings representing periods of growth and conquest through the ages.

• The central district at the center of the city dates back to the Old Cirean period; few structures remain from this time.
• The second ring of the city was established by hill dwarves around the time of the War Under the Mountain.
• The third ring of the city grew up from the peace that followed the War Under the Mountain and was established by human and dwarven merchants.
• The fourth ring is about 500 years old as the Eladrin extended their influence into Hrim following the War of Ice and Grass; this is when the Citadel was established as the seat of provincial power in Biarmia.
• The fifth ring is very new, representing construction since the end of the Last War, resting largely outside the current walls of the city.

Architecture-wise:

• Old Cirean structures look very "Roman" in appearance.
• Old Dwarven construction in the second ring is squat, heavy cobblestone buildings.
• Post the War Under the Mountain, as humans moved in, there is a shift to more stone/wood mixed construction.
• With the arrival of the Eladrin, the buildings in the fourth ring (save the Citadel) take on a more "Norse"appearance, but with smoother lines and more living wood construction due to the use of Eladrin magic. The Citadel, however, is more inline with Dwarven methods and style given that is constructed from stone quarried from nearby.
• The more recent construction of the fifth ring is much like that of the third ring.
