The following are the races that inhabit the world of Vandalmál. Players currently only have access humans, dwarves, and halflings, as this campaign will begin in Hrim.
Humans - humans are found throughout the main continents of Vandalmál and sparingly on the Shattered Isles.
Dwarves - dwarves are found more in the mountainous regions of Hrim, but can be found infrequently in the Imperial lands of Einmanudr and Heyannir.
Halfling - halflings are found throughout the main continents of Vandalmál.
Hobgoblin - hobgoblins are found almost exclusively in the Hrim Free-States; individuals can be found scattered throughout the Empire and the Shattered Isles, but no permanent hobgoblin clans or settlements exist outside of Hrim.
Eladrin - the Summer, Spring, and Autumn Eladrin oversee their individual holdings of Einmanudr, Heyannir, and the Shattered Isles respectively. They are a ruling minority, versed in the arcane arts; the vast majority of Eladrin are either royalty or nobility, but there are some who exist in the higher echelons of the merchant class. The main seat of power within the Empire resides in the Summer Court of Einmanudr, however.
Half-Eladrin - Half-Eladrin result from trysts between humans and Eladrin. As a result, many are bastards (in the royal or noble sense of the word), but find themselves outcast in Eladrin society. Most remain in Imperial lands where they can at least live quietly among the peasants or merchant classes, although rare individuals do rise to prominence owing to their lineage. Outside of the Empire, Half-Eladrin are often viewed with suspicion, considering tensions between the Eladrin and the Hrim Free-States.
Minotaur - minotaurs are native to the Shattered Isles, but can be found in servitude throughout Imperial lands.
